Skin Types

Hello Lovelies!

While reading my new skin care and makeup book; "Make-up Masterclass" by Jenna Kidd, I ran across a compelling and true statement. "The skin is the body's largest organ..." with that being said, why wouldn't we do our best to protect, maintain, and understand it? Water consumption, exercise, and eating right are just some things we can do to help make our skin look and feel better.

If you're anything like me, you're constantly on the lookout for Foundation , Concealer, Lotions, and Sunscreens that work well with your skin. However, we first need to understand what type of skin we actually have.

  1. Normal Skin- People who have normal skin may not suffer from breakouts, their skin usually feels and looks healthy. They may not ever have bad reactions to skin products and cosmetics.
  2. Oily Skin- These people are a little more prone to breakouts, have visible pores, skin looks a bit greasy and oily even after washing. (On a positive note: Oily skin people usually look younger longer.)
  3. Sensitive Skin- people who regularly have reactions to products with allergens and perfumes, have itchy, bumpy, or red swollen skin. Get sun burned easily.
  4. Dry Skin- People who feel tight after washing. Have flaky or dull looking skin. Fine lines and wrinkles unfortunately show up more often on this skin type.
  5. Combination Skin- People who have several symptoms of 2 or more skin types.

Which best describes your skin type? Now that you know...what should you do?
